Hi everybody !  :D

I Would Like to go to Chinatown during our trip in San Francisco.
The chinatown in San Francisco is iconic, because it's the oldest chinatown in North America and the largest chinese community outside Asia.

It's a fantastic place where we are never bored !! We can go to visit small museums, to discover the chinese culture and temples, as the Tin How Temple the first thing that will catch your eye here is the beautiful wood carving.

We have the opportunity to eat local specialities as sushis, noodles and raw fish thanks to food markets. The inhabitants have a healthy life, they avoid rich food and practise the sport contrary to New York, where we eat rich. It's very pleasant and good for our Health !

Moreover there are lots of shops, tearooms where we can relax and spend a good moment at the end of the day. We can go to a very famous factory of cookies, her name is Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory, They seem delicious.  :)

Not only it's a lively area with lots of shops but also a natural community.
There are two big parks : St Mary's square and Portsmouth square in Chinatown. Portsmouth is the best we have to go here ! because there are lots of activities wich we can make as the taï-chi, dance, play chinese checkers, have a nap on the lawn, make a jogging. It's fantastic.
On top of that, We can go to visit the island of alcatraz which is situated in 2,5 kilometers from San Francisco, and to see the celebre prison where there are the most dangerous murderesses, it is fascinating!

I choose to go to Chinatown because it's a tourist place, where we can discover cathedrals, statues, architectures famous and a new culture in the centre of San Francisco. Furthermore it's a peaceful district, with numerous natural reserves, where we feel good. People seem cheerful, friendly and nice, we can hear music, iconic sounds in streets. It's amazing and cool ! ;D
 It's an attractive place !

Are you interested ?
I look forward to hearing from you.
See you later ! :-*

Hello everybody !!   ;)
When we'll be in San Francisco, I think the best to begin with is to visit China Town. Because this neighbourhood is approximately in the San Francisco's centre : so, after that we could do anything. In reality, it's my favourite place in San Francisco (like many people I suppose).
It's really amazing to walk in a Chinese neighbourhood without having to travel in China, I think we have an incredible chance to be able to visit it : don't miss it please !!!  ;D
In China Town, thanks markets, you can buy all you want and speak Chinese if you don't like speak English !! Do you know that the Chinese language is the language the most spoken in the world ?? So it's a really advantage for you  :P :P
Moreover, I've heard that there is a typical music's going on the streets of China Town : what better than to walk while listening to a soft melody coming of China ??!!!!!!
Anyway, if you go in San Francisco to be relaxed and appreciate the silence, you can visit the famous park "The Portsmouth Park". I'm advising you to go over there because you can go for a walk freely ; see fantastic flowers ; do activities ... but the top of that for me, it's you can practise Tai Chi !!!!! It's very unbelievable to be able to practise a typically Chinese activity in San Francisco !!!! There's an art you know  8) 8)
Then, if you still have some energy yet  ;D ;D I would like to finish our trip, visiting the famous Buddha Universal Church. Whatever your religion, you can just visit it because it's the largest United States Buddhist church : it's a unique place I think  :D
Finally, after this big and moving day, we could rest in the Hotel Beresford which is situated at the heart of San Francisco, in only 2 minutes of walking : consequently we put our baggage in the morning, we do what we have to do and, at the day's end, we come back for the night.

I hoped that my program pleases you and I look forward to reading yours !!!

Bye everybody  :D ;)

Hi everybody  :)

I agree with you Coralie and Nicolas ! Chinatown is a beautiful  and dynamic neighbourhood to discover an other community and the chinese culture ! And cable cars shapping the city with cables and bells bring animation with their sounds

I will add the amazing Golden Gate Bridge:)
This bridge is in the center of the famous city of San Francisco in the USA. I think it is interressant to visit this bridge for a school trip !
The mythic Golden Gate Bridge was inaugurated in 1937. There was a story with this bridge about his colour. Everybody thinks is gold (in deduction with his name) while is orange in the reality... It's so funny because the US navy paint bridge in black or yellow like strips for rising. This bridge is so hire !
On this bridge, there are more trafic.
This bridge can be good memories because we can take a lot of photos with this symbolic place of San Francisco. Even people coming few days, visiting this emblematic bridge...
This place can enable us to go out the city and change of scenery. Indeed, this place reminds us to the sea, with the seagulls, the boat and the sea...

What do you think about this visit ? Thank you for your attention and your answer  ;)

Hello everybody,

I think the idea of Coralie is very interesting, i know how to make it much more interesting. To go to Chinatown why not use the Carble Cars ? It's one of the greatest symbols of San Francisco, in all movies in or taking pictures of San Francisco you saw it. By going up the avenues we will have one of the most beautiful views of the bay and and will be less tired  ;)
They have a rich history because they was created in 1912, the sound of their bell is just iconnic and they're works of arts.

I think it's a good idea to go to Chinatown with the Carble Cars ans in other quarter of San Francisco

Wath did you think ?

We should definitely visit Chinatown for us San Francisco trip!

We absolutely have to feel and really understand the Chinese culture.

It will be a really great educational school trip!
One of my friends told me once that this city is so exceptional and it’s so surprising to see the actual community living and breathing.  Peoples are known to be warm and welcoming.

Moreover, it’s not just a city, it has his own soul. Coming here is not just making tourism, coming here is trying special foods like fortune cookies down the street, and test a lot of famous Chinese dishes like Chow Mein or Wontons, it’s listening and feeling traditional music, a kind of rich sounds with Chinese violin for example. But it’s also playing mahjong around the street, an important game for those peoples.
Staying there is this only way to figure it out, what is a warm community who shows us solidarity. We will be able to discover a little place trapped in time, a trip down memory lane to see traditional behavior and costumes.

And for a little break and moment of rest we will have the choice between two exceptional parks: The first one is Portsmouth park, a place were people are dancing, practicing Tai chi and meditation, so we can absorb the atmosphere, and the other park is the St-Mary.

Chinatown is an old town, it gets a lot of complexes, stories and historic infrastructures like “The Chinese historical society of America” at the 965 Clay Street.

Finally, for me Chinatown is the most interesting and fascinating place to visiting in San Francisco.

 What’s your opinion?
